Orthopedic prosthesis evaluation
femoral and patellar
In patients with a femoral orthopedic prosthesis (those who have already undergone hip replacement and who underwent a prosthesis with a short stem), our advanced software, unique in Mexico, identifies the bone mineral density of 7 areas adjacent to the prosthesis and compares them prospectively over time in order to prevent loosening of said prosthesis due to demineralization of said areas. As long as the bone Mineral Density of 1 or several zones (1 to 7) decreases, the patient will be reported with a greater risk of our fractures due to loosening of his prosthesis.
Our advanced GE Encore 15.0 software also enables the identification of adjacent knee areas with patellar and tibial prostheses.

The evaluation of the Bone Mineral Density (BMD) of hip prostheses gives the doctor and patient the peace of mind of knowing that the adjacent areas are not demineralizing. This allows the doctor / nutritionist / physiotherapist to modify the patient's diet or type of exercises in order to avoid a new hip surgery due to loosening.
We are the only institution in Mexico that performs Orthopedic Prosthesis Evaluation at a private level.
